Youtube, Itube, Someonetubes
Welcome back to another thrilling blog here on the Sapphire Nexus and yes, this one is all about Youtube. Well, mostly about Youtube. This last week has been INSANELY busy for me between livestreaming, editing, arting, and learning video stuff, and I am WAY too tired to be writing this right now, but HERE WE GO ANYWAY!
Youtube
At long last, the ever promised carrot on a stick of me making Youtube content has finally come to pass! This endeavor really only started about… two months ago I think, but my goal was to basically turn my livestreams into actual video content, and it proved to be a lot more time consuming than I expected. For example, editing my first video, which ended up being about 40 minutes long, took me over FOUR HOURS! Four hours for one video is nuts, and I had to sift through almost six hours of footage to get it done. To say I have newfound respect for Youtube editors would be a massive understatement, but we are now at the point were there are three Youtube videos out there already! I know. Last week I had none, and now I have three. My how time flies.
Starting off, my Youtube content is currently focused on my adventures in Ark: Survival Evolved and features mainly the misadventures of myself and my friend as we make our way through a desert. As time goes on, however, my content will be changing. I already have plans to make some special videos using content not on stream to try and make it a little spicier, and I think I already have a plan to initiate this on Saturday. Hopefully here soon my Youtube will not only be a glorified Twitch archive, but also it’s own source of material not available on twitch. Oh, and if you want to see a few of these videos, the links are below! Appreciate the thumbnails! I worked hard on them!
Faladorian Mountains
Next week, the next short story in Tearna’s Journal will be dropping. This story covers her adventure into the Faladorian Mountains and details her struggles against howling blizzard, narrow mountain passes, and quite dangerous creatures. There will also be a side adventure in the middle of it showing exactly how the Krysheek survive in such a rough environment, so for those of you fonder of seeing more village stuff, you’ll be happy with that part of the story. I don’t want to spoil anything just yet though, so as for the story that will be following it, you’ll just have to wait… but I will say we’re getting deeper into the Clockwork Crisis!
Art stuff
I cannot talk about this too much just yet, but work on Gale is progressing even with all the distractions going on right now. Her linework is mostly done, her base colors are done, and her shadows/highlights are progressing. A texturing pass is needed, and I need to add more detail to different parts of her, so there’s still probably at least 6 hours or more left before she’ll be done. My goal is still to get her finished before the end of the month, but it’s going to be really close. There might be a teaser for it next week though if things go well this weekend!
Where Sapphire Verdict?
The Sapphire Verdict is STILL in progress. Editing has been progressing at an incredible rate, and I want to say we are getting close to be sub 500,000 words, which is quite the achievement considering this started at 1 million. I am still aiming to have this editing pass done by the end of the month, but I think it’s looking more likely to be early February instead. Regardless, the plan is still to acquire the assistance of a developmental editor at that point, so who knows where we are at in terms of this story eventually getting published. All I can say is hang tight and believe me when I say I AM WORKING MY A$$ OFF!
Future Blog Content
For the most part, my blogs are nice little snippets and sneakpeaks of stuff I have in progress, but I would like to start making some blogs focused on other content to try and drive more reach to the website. I think this could manifest in the form of some in depth studies of some of the elements of my worlds and reveal some exciting details about some of the characters, but there’s a chance this may instead manifest as something completely different! Making a blog for video game recommendations or music related stuff could prove to be a fun departure from my usual content, but we’ll see what I end up feeling like. Regardless, next week’s blog will be mostly focused on the Faladorian Mountains.
Conclusion
And with that, another blog has come and gone. It was another small one, I know, but things will slowly start to pick up steam once I get out from all the stuff I’m currently doing. With all the stuff I’m trying to juggle, finding the time to make a thorough and thick blog is a little tough, but we will get back to that eventually! I promise! For now, that’s all I have, so, once again… Cheers!
