About Me
While I like to go by the moniker of The Flying Fennec or, more historically, Siphonix, my actual name is Zane Flinn, and I am definitely someone with an imagination too large for their own good! While my number one passion is creating new universes and stories for all forms of media, in my spare time, I am an avid computer nerd with interests ranging from video games to digital art and even 3d printing! With so many hobbies that keep me in doors, I often get asked the same question, so allow me to go ahead and say that I do in fact touch grass outside every so often… rarely.
Born and raised in Kansas City, I went to college at Purdue in 2013, graduated in 2017, and then moved out to North Carolina where I’ve been working in technology ever since. In the year 2014, I began work in earnest on the Sapphire Verdict story, and have been working on it diligently every day since, literally. Working on this universe has been my greatest passion, and after all this time, I highly doubt I will ever truly be able to stop creating new universes!
Personal Interests
While writing constitutes the bulk of my free time, I do have other hobbies that I try to keep up with, most of which revolve around computers. I’m a fairly avid gamer and largely attribute my creative spark to all the incredible stories I’ve been able to experience through gaming, but I also spend quite a lot of time on art based activities as well! I’m a fairly avid 3d modeler, even though I am definitely just an amateur, and spend quite a lot of time on programs like blender, most often to support my 3d printing addiction. Beyond that, I’ve recently taken to art, and while not every piece on this website is my creation, a huge chunk of them are!
The Sapphire Verdict
The Sapphire Verdict got its start all the way back in middle school, though it was drastically different back then. It has constantly evolved, grown, and changed since then, but it didn’t fully take shape until sometime around 2011 when I created Sapphiria. She largely took over the story, and work on the Sapphire Verdict in its current form began in 2014 sometime just after Christmas! Since then, I’ve worked on it nearly every single day, literally, and I don’t regret a single second of it!
Social Media
I’m generally fairly active on Twitter, but the vast majority of my social media footprint is on twitch where I stream at least twice a week. Sometimes I stream my art activities, but most of the time I’m streaming whatever game happens to have caught my fancy, so if you feel like learning a little more about me directly from the source, don’t hesitate to drop in and say hello!
