Short Stories!
Here we are, once again. It’s another week and another blog post. Similarly to last week, there aren’t a lot of updates ready to go just yet. A LOT of things are in the works, and I’m also winding down to a stopping point on the third Sapphire Verdict book. There is a lot on my mind, and working on such a heartwrenching chapter is not helping in the slightest! That being said, with a stopping point coming up soon, I’m at a point where I can finally start looking ahead, so I can go ahead and talk about some of the updates that should be coming quite soon! Let’s dive in!
Tearna’s Journal - The Esterian Sea
The next entry in Tearna’s journal should be arriving within the next two weeks! Reaching a breakpoint in the story means that I can shift gears and focus on something else for a while, which will, of course, be short stories! This means that the Esterian Sea will be my focus starting this weekend, and it shouldn’t take me too long to get ready for publishing on the short stories page. Expect an interesting, if not unsettling, tale of a journey through a vast ocean where creatures of every shape and size dwell, some of which could potentially swallow Tearna’s galleon whole…
Following the Esterian Sea will be the next short story entry, which will be… Adecial! For those who have actually looked at the world map, you’ll recognize the name. Adecial is a Krysheek city on the northern side of Falador and is one of the largest ports in the world. This city adventure will be focused on exploring Krysheek culture rather than animals or plants, though a couple will probably show up throughout the adventure. You’ll get a good picture of the architecture of the city, the entertainment it offers, and some of the history that still haunts the recently embattled cultural center. It should be an interesting and insightful journey for those hoping to get a clearer peak at Krysheek culture, however, we are not done yet!
More Short Stories!
With a break coming for me on my main story, I’m going to take some time to flesh out some of the short stories waiting in the chamber. What does this mean? This means shotgunning through ALL of Tearna’s Journal over the course of a week or two. I fully believe I have the capacity to knock it out in record time, and that will mean that there will be regular journal updates each month until I, quite simply, run out. I believe there will be somewhere around 10 more entries by the time I’m done, so keep an eye out for them over the coming months. Additionally, I want to begin working on a… beefier short story. By that, I mean one that’s not a dossier style journal, but, rather, a true story with an end goal from the beginning. I have a couple of candidates, and might eventually make all of them if I really get into a rhythm. Basically, expect some serious content to suddenly popup in the short story section!
Further Site Updates
Work has been started on bringing to life the cultural sections of the Universe pages for the different factions, but it is going to take some SERIOUS work! I’m imagining this is going to be a multi-work effort, so don’t expect an update on this too soon. On the plus side, when it’s done, there is going to be a LOT of content to dig into, so I hope that you’re ready for some reading!
On the artistic end, my time is being split too many ways because I can’t keep myself focused on one thing. I have issues like that… Anywho, I’m primarily trying to focus on Stockton, which is probably why I’m dragging my feet so much. Drawing people is very difficult for me, but I’m slowly getting somewhere with it. Once it’s done, I want to turn my focus to some new book links for the short stories section, and then I desperately need to get a functioning starting soon screen. On top of that, I need to work on the ship designs for REDACTED, so… a lot to do and very little time to get it all done! I have no idea when any of these updates will be done, but keep an eye out for them in case they come by sooner than expected!
Conclusion
For this week, that is all I have. Next week should prove to be a bit more interesting, probably with a short story and maybe a new section of the website. We’ll play it by ear and see what ends up happening, so, until next time… CHEERS!
